Ten of the best albums you'll ever listen to...

This is not only the most commercially successful album of all time, but it has acclaimed critical response as well. Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was a monumental achievment in pop music, and ever since people in the pop music industry have tried to be better than the "King of Pop" but none even come close to prince of pop or peasent of pop for that matter.

In my opinion the word "king" should not be used lightly. But Michael truely does deserve this title by being the best he could be while dealing with the hardships of life in the industry. His music and his name shall remain timeless. I encourage to forget about the musicians personal life and focus on the music because let me tell ya' it's pretty damn good.

After the release of Van's first record "Astral Weeks," it was thought that his second album wouldn't be as groundbreaking, because that's the path most musicians go on. But Van didn't go down that path. Instead of settling for a half-assed version of Astral Weeks he decided to one-up the album and made a little masterpiece called "Moondance". Starting from the listenablilty of "And It Stoned Me" to the love ballad of "Crazy Love" and then to the ultimate "Caravan" Van swooned audiences into his amazing voice and lyrical talents.

Before I discovered the musical talents of Mr. Morrison I did not understand the meaning for his nickname(Van the Man). Very catchy but i did not understand because of my lack of funds and internet to purchase of listen to him. After Astral Weeks and Moondance I must say, I most certainly understood.

Not much can be said about this album, except that it's amazing! I myself have loved this album from the second I heard the first song "Moving Up". The album has unbelievable energy at moments and can switch to some of the best lyrics I've ever heard in the most calm way (Just Like a Woman) to iniciate them. The album is loads of fun and I reccomend it to everyone.

Billy Joel's talents as a piano player run very high and so does the talent of his voice. Joel has a very distinct pleasurable voice that most would love to hear on a daily basis because of its charm and happiness. With the combination of his lyrics that can appear quirky sometimes (Only the Good Die Young) he estasblishes himself deep inside the halls of rock n' roll

What started out as a low selling disapointment and slowing grew into the 5th best selling album of all time, Meat Loaf's "Bat out of Hell" was truely the magnum opus of his carrer. The album's contents are almost as outlandish as his name. Whether the lyrics be about escaping Satan's domain or scoring with a girl on a hot summer night, Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman outdo themselves. Each of the seven songs on Bat out of Hell clock in at least five minutes, and each of the epics are worth listening to.

Meat Loafs' masterpeice was not just an album, it was a production. Everytime you listen to the album you can almost act out scenes in your mind of teenage love and rebellion. The album can brighten up your day and i seriously reccomend its magnificence

You knew I couldn't have a top ten list without mentioning at least one of the Beatles's works. The last of their albums released argueably their best, Let it Be reminds me why the Beatles are loved so much among so many. The album was actually recorded a long time before they released, it making "Abbey Road" their last recorded album. The song that really makes this album stand out to me is "I've Got a Feeling". George Harrison's song writing is absolutely pristine.

From the whimsical and almost kaliedoscopic "Across the Universe" to the delectably short "Maggie Mea" this album has many traits to love. The opening track "Two of us" definitley gets you in the mood for the album. It's amazing listening to all of the Beatles works and realizing how much they have matured from "Please Please Me" to "Let it Be".

When I first listened to "Music from the Big Pink" I died a little inside because of how remarakable it was. It was my favorite CD for quite a while. I got this CD because of the song "The Weight" and I thought that'd be the only song I'd like, but I was sorely mistaken. Every song on this album is a treat. If you aren't familiar with The Band then you must try them out. You will just never hear a sound as unique as this blend of country, rock and blues.

The Weight is arguably in the top five songs of all time. I've never heard a song with such a calm energy as this. It is probably the most universal song ever made. Almost everyone could jam to this masterpiece... Movie reccomendation- The Last Waltz. If you listen to The Band and love them then go and buy The Last Waltz right now! It's The Bands' last concert and the lineup is unbelievable.

"Dark Side of the Moon" is without a doubt the most mysterious album ever made. People have written books just about this album trying to critique and explain the lyrical genious, but the only people who will ever truely understand its meaning is a little band called Pink Floyd.The album made Pink Floyd superstars and it is now ranked the 3rd best selling album of all time. I could go on and on about how Pink Floyd is the best band of all time but I'd rather not sound like a fanatic and just simply say, Pink Floyd Is The Best Band Ever.

Dark side of the Moon is an endless trip through time and space. I say endless because even though the album has 9 tracks the album is almost one continuous song, with the end beat of each song leading into the next. The concept of the album goes from war to insanity, and most of the album is about former band member Syd Barret, who had severe schizophrenia and was forced to leave the band.

After The Band's first album "Music From the Big Pink" nobody thought their follow up record would be as good, but just like Van Morrison's "Moondance" was better than "Astral Weeks", The Band 1 up'd "Big Pink" and made their self-titled masterpeice. The album starts off with the adventurous "Across the Great Divide" and ends with the depressing but great tale of unsuccessful farming "King Harvest (has surely come)". The album is an adventure in itself.

I have listened to this album more than any other album ever made. It's so good, it's scary. "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust" is a loose concept album about a man (Ziggy Stardust) who comes down from space and warns us of the five years we have left here on this world. One of the great things about this album is the last beat of the last song and the first beat of the first song coalesce. If you're listening to this record on repeat, which you'll want to, you're in for a treat.

No album ever recorded can come close to the perfection that is "Wish You Were Here". The lyrics are perfect the music is out of this world and the album hails the best song ever made (Shine On You Crazy Diamond). The entire album is focused on the loss of their former front man Syd Barret due to insanity. This is my number one pick because it's timeless and each of the five songs is a journey you will want to go on over and over again.
